CEN and CYS Meeting 2016

FirePro was present at this year’s meeting of the working group CEN TC 191 / WG6 / TG2 'Aerosol Extinguishing Systems.’ Held by the Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS), which hosts Technical Standardization Committees from European and International Standardization Organizations, the meeting took place in Limassol on November 24 and 25th.

CYS is the National Standards Body for Cyprus, run by a 7 member board consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and Energy, Trade, Industry, and Tourism. CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, is an association that brings together the National Standardization Bodies of 33 European countries. CEN is one of three European Standardization Organizations that have been officially recognized by the European Union and by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at European level.

The working group is comprised of experts across the EU who are delegated by their national standardization bodies. Cyprus was represented at the meeting by FirePro’s Executive Director, Dr. Gianfilippi De Parenti and Quality Manager, Vakis Ioakim. FirePro sponsored the meeting in Cyprus.
