RINA Type Approval Certificate

FirePro Obtains RINA Type Approval Certificate
 
Following the successful obtaining of the Bureau Veritas Type Approval, a further IACS recognition has been received by RINA (Italy).
 
RINA has assessed FirePro Condensed Aerosol Fixed Fire Extinguishing Systems, as per the following requirements: Fire test report dated July 2005 issued by USCG and filed by RINA with No. CSST-10136
 
Fire test report dated January 2012 issued by Efectis Nederland BV and filed by RINA with No. CSST-10137
 
SOLAS 74, as amended, Ch. II.2
IMO MSC / Circ. 1007
IMO MSC 1 / Circ. 1270
 
The Approval covers protection of Machinery Spaces of Category A according to SOLAS 74 Chapter 2, Regulation 32 & 34. These are spaces and trunks to such spaces which contain either:
 
 
1. Internal combustion machinery used for main propulsion.
2. Internal combustion machinery used for purposes other than main propulsion where such machinery has in the aggregate a total power output of not less than 375 kW.
3. Any oil-fired boiler or oil fuel unit, or any oil-fired equipment other than boilers, such as inert gas generators, incinerators, etc.
4. Specifically, auxiliary equipment, boilers, condensers, evaporators, main engines, reduction gears, tanks, trunks.
 
In addition to the above mandatory protection requirements it is up to the discretion of the owner to mandate the protection of other areas of the vessel.
 
*NOTE: RINA CURRENTLY RESTRICTS PROTECTION TO ITS CLASSED VESSELS MACHINERY SPACES HAVING A GROSS VOLUME OF 500 m3*
